Patrick (Paddy) Shine

Some years ago, my late partner, Mick Ludlow worked with Paddy in Euromech. I had the pleasure of meeting Paddy through Mick. The minute you would meet Paddy, you were struck by the warmth and sincerity of the man. He was also so interesting to talk with. Having not been in touch with Paddy for many years, a few months ago, Mick arranged to meet him for a drink and catch up. I'm so glad that happened because they have both left us now. To Paddy's family I extend my sincerest condolences.

Oh Paddy I wish that I could speak to you instead of typing this: Anyway, to all your family and friends there was only one of you ever made, and you were a special one, everyone loved you and your wit. You and I had many good nights drinking, I learned so much from you over those pints, if there is a Heaven, I know you are there so please have a pint on for me and we will just carry on from where we last left off, as soon as I arrive there, I am certain God will want to hear you laughing and see your warm smile. You were a great friend and sure Anne was beautiful and I don't know how she allowed me to lead you astray. Until we meet again, and I pray that we do, please be kind, be funny, and help all those that need it, but this time think about yourself and your family as well, because we tend to help others and neglect our own, in doing so.
