I did not know Paddy before I went to work with the CPSU in 88 but had heard of him with a reputation in the wider Union movement as a rock of sense in the stormy seas of the CPSU.I eventually took over from Paddy as DGS and he was a great help to me in making that transition as indeed he was when I first joined.He was a real gentleman always helpful and always with the best interests of the members at heart.He was a canny negotiator too and great for making deals. Rest in Peace Paddy you are missed by all who knew you

I am so sorry to hear of Paddy’s passing. I made his acquaintance in recent years as fellow members of St. Kevin’s Board of Management. Although frail of body Paddy was ever so sharp of mind and a valuable contributor and advisor at board meetings. He was a true gentleman and will be greatly missed.
