What a character and a genuine person. I remember back in the early 70's we had our own "informal" youth club that would meet at Grange School on balmy summer evenings. Padraig regularly appeared on a big Shire horse. riding bareback. Going home at dusk he would gallop the horse and then pull the reins hard so that we could see the 4 lines of sparks coming from the horses shoes on the tar. He never fell off. Great times and greatly added to by Padraig. Ride on Padraig

Pádhraig was most genial, full of good nature, kindness and a sense of good cheer. No doubt, those qualities were much welcomed by the people he well served in his work with the ambulance service.

Regretfully, we are unable to attend his funeral but will attend his funeral Mass online.
