I met Pat three years ago. I am a friend of Liam's, Pat's brother, and Liam was staying with Pat and Monica when I was visiting Ireland on holiday from the States. Pat and Monica welcomed me into their home with open arms and couldn't have been nicer. I will always remember fondly their wonderful Irish hospitality. I liked Pat a lot. There were many things I admired about him. I thought he was a lovely man, a gentle man, an interesting man. Unlike the people I had spent my working life with in office towers, here was someone who worked on-site on some of the largest construction projects of his time, in England and elsewhere in the world, leaving behind monuments that future generations can see and touch and use and enjoy. And he struck me as a man who loved and was loved, deservingly grateful and proud of his family, his community, and Ireland. My deepest sympathies to Monica and their children and grandchildren, and to Liam, at this difficult time. My heart goes out to all who shall miss him.

We were saddened to hear about the death of Pat Browne. We have good memories of him, both in London and staying at his house in Kiltimagh.
He was a good man and, I believe, a good father too. He will be sorely missed by all those who knew him.

We met Pat on numerous occasions when he visited his brother, Liam (our close friend) on his visits to London. We'd always have a good debate and laughs on each of Pat's visits. We were shocked to hear of Pat's sudden passing. Our condolences and best wishes to Pat's family, friends and community.

He was someone who made a real impression on me, particularly of course in the context of the church at Foxford, through his welcome , enthusiasm and utter commitment to that place … its people and its heritage. He will leave a vast gap there .. for me he was truly, to use those familiar words , a lovely man.
