I am so saddened and heartbroken to hear the very sad news of Pat’s passing.
Pat was such a lovely caring Man, I’ve had the pleasure of sharing a glass of wine and a few lovely and memorable chats with him & Philippa.
Thinking of you all at this sad time.

Only heard of Pats passing today. Knew him when he was in B&I for a while. We were in Jervis St hospital for a while together I recall. God rest his soul

I grieve for Pats loss for you as much as myself. He truly was the most amazing, funny, uplifting and kind hearted man. His presence was always felt at every occasion. He would lift a room with his smiles and laughs, he would go out of his way to make sure everyone felt welcome and included with his genuine curiosity and humour.

He was so much to so many, which is a testament to how much time and care he put into others. Anyone who met Pat would always leave with a smile.
He was such a huge part of our families lives. Every milestone, big and small, Pat was there, making us laugh and bringing joy with is smile. All my happiest family memories are with Pat, we had so so many great times that shall be forever cherished.

We have been so blessed to have him in our lives for the time we did. He will always be in our hearts.

Pat was always a joy to meet. He loved a laugh and could make the sun shine on a dull day. He was genuine and such a gentle soul. He always had a smile on his face no matter what he was feeling. Such a loss to all who were lucky to know him.

Dear Philippa, I am so sorry to hear the sad news about Pat. He was a pure gentleman, with the most wonderful outlook on life. My thoughts are with you.

Philippa, Darragh and John, I cannot say how sorry I am for your loss as Pat was a truly exceptional soul. He was a pure joy to be with, full of fun, fabulous sense of humour and easy conversation. His breath of knowledge was astonishing and only surpassed by the people he knew.

We all had so many lovely times together and each time I think back we are cracking up with laughter. The best of times… good food, company, music, conversation and laughter.

Pats genuine enthusiasm for getting to know people was inspiring and lovely to know that this stayed with him throughout his life. It is a pleasure to have been counted as one of Pats friends and his loss will be forever felt.

We are all the better for having had Pat in our lives.

Pat brought joy happiness and fun to our lives .His cheerfullness and kindness made him a very special person in our family His presence was so important at all the family gatherings birthdays and Christmases that we spent together .Tim and I greatly enjoued our winter breaks with Pat and Philippa those trips brightened the Febuary days.!
Pat's courage thruout his illness was exemplary .
The Carpenter family will miss him so much particularily on special occasions.Our thoughts and prayers are with Philippa Darragh and John at this time on the sad loss of Pat such a dear family memeber.

What can I say? In the few times I met Pat he was a gentleman and was so at ease in his own skin you couldnt hep but be at ease too. My lasting memory of those nights in pubs and the time he took me for lunch (he insisted because I had done Philippa a favour) was just how interested he was in people - all people! If time is a luxury then Pat was a luxury because he had time for everyone. He was so kind and warm. Philippa you have been a great friend to me over the years and I am deeply sorry for your loss. He grew up on our road and I remember him giving me his van Morrison records....I had to pretend I thought they were good while I was listening to rmadonna....he d sometimes give u a lift if he passed u walking to work and he d pretend he was starsky.....popping the pretending light on his car roof..... gas man ....a lovely family..... may he rest in peace ....he left the world with lovely memories

Pat made such a huge impression when we first me in Aluset back in the 80's and the memories of the fun and craic we had remain vivid to this day.

Dear Philipa, hearing about Pat's death was a real shock.
He really did try hard to stay with you, putting up a great fight against his illness.
I've just watched the Lovely Mass & wished I could have been there.
Pat would have been beaming with with pride hearing You & Darragh share so many stories .....telling it like it was, but most of all, the Respect, Love & Happiness of your togetherness was palpable & genuine.
I loved hearing them because I could imagine Pat in each situation.
He was a Very Special & much loved man!
