Pat was a great friend to my late parents and was a constant visitor to our house over the years. I remember many a sunny summer's day spent with Pat saving the turf and bringing in the hay. He was always such a hard worker. He maintained that friendship with us after my parents had passed. My late brother Pat really enjoyed his visits and the chat, as did we. A long life well lived, rest in peace Pat, you will be missed.

My deepest sympathy to Catherine and John ,relations and friends on the sad passing of your Dad, Pat.I hadn't seen your Dad for some time now but we'd meet quite often in Birr in recent years and we'd reminisce about all our experiences on the Little Brosna and of course the many days that we spent on the Moy at Foxford.Most non fishermen may not know this but it's always been a a fact the most fishermen were liars,all that is except your Dad, Pat and myself because we did catch those large fish and we didn't need to lie.I often think of a morning in the 1970s ,the date was May 1st and Pat caught a salmon over 20 ibs at 7.30 am and a few hours later another of 16 and a half pounds.Those days are long gone and will never return but when we would meet, those Spring salmon and lots of other great days with catches unheard of today would come into those conversations and we knew that we did catch and witness those days and there was no need to lie as those fish were caught and your Dad, Pat and myself had those wonderful memories and no-one could take them away. I have no doubt that Pat who was kind and gentle will be given a good riverside fishing spot up above as that was what he loved most.May your Dad, Pat's Gentle Soul now Rest in Perpetual Peace That He Richly deserves.God Bless Pat and keep a riverside place for me when my time comes.
