I was very sorry to hear of Pat’s passing RIP. He was very professional in his dealings with all and the Inspectorate valued his cooperation in mutual matters and as a source of circulars etc . Deepest sympathy to his family.

I always found him helpful,friendly and courteous at all times when seeking advice regarding his new duties

I also knew him socially and met him for a pint from time to time

A true gentleman and a wonderful piece of humanity

Pat was one of my cousins and I spent many happy summers with the Conroy’s in Kilmaine. When Pat came to live with us in Birmingham he proved to be a most wonderful and patient teacher and I am indebted to him for improving my maths grades. My heartfelt condolences to his family as I know that Pat will leave a huge void in their lives.

Pat was a true gentleman, kind, quietly spoken and good fun. Pat had with an expert knowledge of the workings of the Department, and had an extensive archive of obscure circulars and out of print copies of rules and programmes stretching back to the foundation of the state, if ever you needed something Pat had a hard copy, that was invaluable when IT services weren’t what they are now. Very sorry to hear of Pat's death. A lovely kind gentleman. We worked together in the Central Telegraph Office in the GPO many years ago and when I lived nearby in The Donahies we often travelled to work together on the train from Howth Junction.
