It is with great sadness to learn of the passing of Patrick Dever , one of Curranes finest sons in modern times. We offer our sincere and deepest sympathy to all of his family, to his wife Patricia, son Michael, stepson Daniel, daughter in law Niamh, his many relatives in the Dever, Cafferky and Gallagher families and his close friends Andrew and Tom. To all of Patricks family and his siblings, sisters Mary, Anne and Martina, I extend a special nostalgic sympathy in the memory of Patrick his parents Michael and Mary and his Grandparents Terry Dever ( Terry Andy) and Annie Campbell (Annie Jim). Remembering Patrick fondly for his quite nature, his unique personality and sometimes quirky Wit, the great welcome I received from Patrick on my visits to Currane, meeting Patrick on “Booley an Tsagairt” (Bulling Tugairt) during his visits to “Pol an Bhroic, Indeed one of my last conversations with Patrick on the Ardan and overlooking the site of the thatched house of his ancestors when we reflected on my detailed memories of the ancestral, homestead, out stables, and the daily routine that I witnessed of his,Grandparents in my youth during my Summer visits. Hard times for hard working people, to live in the Penal times in Currane. It was a privilege to have known those people, to have met them and listened to them, A people rich in Heritage and taken up with great pride by Patrick during his lifetime.
