Pat. You were a true gent. I loved our chats over a few pints on music, gigs, guitar players etc, and I would listen attentively when you spoke about the horses.. Hoping to pick up a tip or two.... I will miss you my friend and that impish grin that greeted us all when we settled in the bar for a pints.
Noel
My mother, my sister my late father and I all knew Fritz through his primary friendship with my brother, Peter, and we remember him as a uniquely engaging, intelligent and singularly independent-thinking guy. When my son Alex wanted to go to a Shakira concert in Berlin, Fritz got him and his mother into the concert and later arranged for Alex to meet Shakira and provide him with T-shirts, signed posters and so on. Alex was the envy of his schoolmates for weeks afterwards. When I told Alex´s mother the news, she remembered Fritz as “ausserst sympathisch und grosszügig” (extremely kind and generous). And that was Fritz. Anybody who met him, no matter how fleetingly, had their lives enriched by the experience. And that is quite a legacy to leave. Our family, particularly my brother, Peter, will miss him immensely.
RIP, Fritz.
Deepest sympathies to all

What a sad loss of a great and funny man, may you rest in peace "uncle Patsy" we won't forget the good times together R.I.P mate.
My deepest sympathies to Pats family.
I had the good fortune of sharing a farmhouse with Pat and Jodie. When he would come home from tour he would rock my baby boy Sam to sleep to the slow hum of the theme tune of the Archers. He taught me to tie my first bow-line when I was the ripe old age of 30 in preparation for me going to work as a rigger and I remember his great fondness for Morriss the cat. In Pat I knew a lovely gentle man, an enquiring mind and intellect, and a lovely friend to my partner of the time Sarah, my children Sam, Bran and myself. You where a lovely man Pat.
I am so sorry to hear that you’ve left us.

Once you lit up the stars Pat,

Now go light up Heaven.

Love George

Sincere condolences to Pat's family at this time. We will remember our warm, caring friend and colleague forever.
I never called him Pat and he never called me Peter. Spent our teens together. Probably spent more time in his house than mine listening to dodgy metal albums. He did drawings of ac/dc light shows. They were the first band we saw live together. 1982. Little did we know he'd end up living out his ambition. Sadly lost touch. RIP Fritz.
Rest in peace Patrick , sending all my prayers and love to the fitzsimons family .

So very sad to hear of this tragic news, a truly lovely guy. May you rest in peace. My thoughts are with your family. Sally x
My memory of Patrick is of a tall, gangly teenager with thick long black hair --- and very quiet. Although I have not met many of the Fitzsimons Clan in a while, I follow closely through conversations with my mum. What an absolute tragedy. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this time -- you are a strong family and will get through this with each other's support. May Patrick rest in peace.
(Oli, Mike, Patrick and George, India).
We are terribly sad to be offering our deepest sympathy, from Somerset, to his family. Pat was great company. He was a valued and knowledgeable friend, with a shared love of obscure historical facts and their relevance to the current state of the world. We’ll always remember his quick wit and contribution to our lives fondly… Despite his slightly obsessive love of Arsenal FC.
Pat, a true gentleman, gone but not forgotten.. RIP mate.
such sad news .glad we meet for only the shortest time . R i p patrick
