Patrick (Pat) Fitzsimons

For Pat:

From the very first day I arrived at his home, he welcomed me with a warm smile and kind greeting that gave me peace of mind, even though I had arrived late. It didn’t seem to disturb his calm. Without any rush, he offered me a glass of water and a seat to rest for a moment. We spoke openly that first time, and every time after that when I visited him at home, our conversations carried the same warmth.

I could clearly see how deeply Pat loved and honored his wife—always so gentle and understanding. Together, they showed affection and mutual respect in such a beautiful way. From that very first day, they opened the doors of their home to me, even telling me I was their favorite. Both of them shared so much kindness and generosity with me. That is something I will always cherish with deep gratitude.

Pat faced a difficult physical battle, but he never let it stop him. What I saw in him every single day was determination and an admirable spirit. Above all, I will remember him as a man with a truly great heart.

Ann, you deserve an award given for the care and commitment you made to himself, this is what love and care in reality is.

Pat was a gentleman, he always wanted to sit in the front of the car. He spoke the world of you on our drives to dialysis to James Hospital each week. He use to tell me how much fuss ya made of him, especially putting the banana in his pocket incase his sugars would drop. Actions are louder than words. You just know he is resting in peace and with ya always.
