A lot of sadness in our house on hearing of the passing of Pat Hogan.

Sincere sympathy to all the Hogan family at this very sad and difficult time in your lives.

We had know Pat for about the past 15 years and during that time we found him to be a true gentleman.

Always busy in his gardens, both back and front, but always having the time to stop for a chat.

A chat with Pat was always interesting and enlightening. Gardening was a favourite hobby and also a topic that he enjoyed to discuss.

A perfect role model for the amature gardener to emulate - though not easy for us to achieve his very high standard.

Many of the people growing their vegetables in the plots adjacent to Pat's garden sought and were given his best advice. Others just looked over the hedge to see what he was doing and how he was doing it.

Crossing the busy road to the shop on the opposite side was always a matter of concern for Pat, not just for himself, but others also. He had identified the safest crossing point for himself and this was communicated with great clarity and strong advice to others to follow his safe route.

The legendary figure that was Pat Hogan will be greatly missed by his family and by so many others with whom he came into contact over the years.

Pat and his late wife Bridie were a wonderful team and now they are united in Heaven with their sons Joe and Sean.

Thanks for your friendship and good advice over the years Pat and may your gentle soul rest in peace.
