I was shocked and very saddened to hear about the passing of the one and only Pat O'Brien. My deepest condolences to you Zeta, his soul mate forever, and his two children Niamh and Sean.
He was the biggest star in Fox's in Oaklawn, Chicago when I saw him first in the 80's. And I could see why - everybody loved him, men, women, kids - they came from miles to enjoy him.
He was a perfectionist in everything he did on stage, working tirelessly at home on every song, not performing it until it was perfect in every way. With that devotion, and his terrific personality, making everybody in the audience feel special, made him deservedly, one of the best entertainers in the business. That's why he made it - he was the full package.

Zita, Sean, and Niamh. We were so sorry to hear of Pat’s passing. He was a big part of our lives especially when we started dating and playing at our wedding. We have many wonderful memories of him in Chicago, Galway, and Laughlin. His humor and stories were always entertaining and he was the perfect chef and host. We will miss him as a dear friend of forty years. I was fortunate to meet him in March and have a drink like old times.

I can say for myself that I know he was one of the best musicians and singers because every song he sang was felt from the soul. His soul was music. His timing and pitch always right on. Geoff and I will miss him so very much. Pat our dear friend , May you find that spot in the lights and help us to feel your spirit through music.
