Alas we bid farewell to a remarkable and inspirational man our great friend and genius scholar Pat who has indeed raised the bar in how one should live their life.
"Its not the years in your life but the life in your years" as the saying goes and Pat was gifted in knowing the importance of making the most of the time we have and living a full and meaningful life which he did right up to the end attending Bloomsday earlier this year where we shared a glass of vino among his many friends never complaining once of the pain he was suffering rather always wearing that wonderful smile of his with his sparkly eyes full of life to the bitter end.
His generosity , inclusivity , creativity , and wit are gifts that brightened our lives. His great intellect as evidenced by his book " Hidden Dimensions " was a source of great pride to him and has left an indelible mark on us all that will live on.
Hopefully Pat now resides in a fifth dimension of eternal happiness where his intellect and kindness continue to shine.
Friday nights at the Bailey will never be the same but we pledge to uphold the tradition in his honour.
His memory will endure through you Joy and June . He will always remain by your side a source of strength and love. What a remarkable legacy.Thank you Pat for the amazing contribution you made to our lives and our community .
Until we meet again Slan Leat Ar Gcara and may you rest in peace. Amen.

My first and oldest friend in Ireland. I met Pat in 1994 in (then) DIT when I was looking for a job. He introduced me to so many places, events and organisations, I could not keep up! I still can not keep up….. RIP my dearest friend. I am sorry I am not there for your funeral but I promise I will try to keep up your good work in your honour.

My deepest sympathy to the McCormack family at this sad time. I got to know Pat when I worked at the Bolton Trust in Docklands Innovation Park where he was greatly valued. He was one of nature's gentlemen. He embraced matters of academia, culture, the arts, literature with great enthusiasm, knowledge and humility. I enjoyed the discussions on Alexander Pope and Lord Byron. He was the consummate professional. Rest Peacefully Pat. Ni bheidh a leitheid aris ann.
Although we both worked for DIT, I only knew Pat through mutual friends. He was a most likeable man who enjoyed life to the full. I would have seen him not so long ago sitting outside Davy Byrnes with a cigar. A great fellow.

Sorry to hear about Pat. Hard working and always busy. Contributed a lot in addition to his teaching. I first saw this in the 1980s on the planning committee for a proposed Building Physics Laboratory, which did not go ahead. One of the few who taught both architects and engineers in the science fundamentals and placed great emphasis on laboratory work here.
Had many a laugh with pat and he had a great sense of humour loved life and he will be sadly missed in Dublin .He loved social gatherings in Dublin and did great work in the Dublin Arts Club .Farewell Pat

Gentleman is the word all use to describe Pat. A relic from a bygone age, a polymath who could switch from poetry and literature to mathematics and science at the drop of a hat. I worked with him when he was the chairman of the Bolton Trust. A strategic thinker and visionary but to me personally he was a mentor, advisor and supporter. I will miss him very much.
Sincere condolences to all the Mc Cormack Families on Pat's passing. I used to chat with him occasionally in the village before he emigrated to Cabinteeely. Rest in peace Pat
To all the McCormack family network. I have just learned of Pat's passing with shock, and offer my sincere sympathies to you all. Pat was exceptional. His hero was Albert Einstein and like few others Pat understood the complexities of relativity. We only met a few short years ago and he shared his wonderful book Hidden Dimension? with me. I was honorored to spend time with Pat, learning from the master. Pats humility and generosity set him apart. I will miss you Pat. I hope that you are now experiencing dimensions that we cannot percieve. Mary
