My condolences to Pat's family and friends. Great passionate Garda Chief Superintendent and family man. I was privileged to serve with him at the Garda Computer Section Phoenix Park in the 1980s.

Dear Olive, Sinead & extended family, I am so sorry and saddened by the news of Pat's passing.
We grew up loving Pat, with a little element of fear of the very tall Garda living 2 doors up! (We also had Garda John Doyle next door so mum and dad had lots of bribery!)
He was in reality, as we realised, as we got older, a gentle, quiet and incredibly kind man who we all adored. The world is a lesser place without him in it but I know he will be at peace reunited with Ann-Marie. Our love and prayers are with you all. Sleep safely Pat, we will meet again x
