I was so sad to hear of Pat's death, he was a kind and generous man. When I started college he put me up in his house and drove me out to Maynooth on the first day, one of many times he put a roof over my head when I needed one. When I was involved with setting up a hurling club years later, we were stuck without jerseys for our first match and were looking like we'd have to forfeit the match, until Pat showed up with an old set of Jude's jerseys and gave them to us. He continued to follow the club's fortunes afterwards, but I don't know if he realised the club would probably have just gone under if he hadn't bailed us out! It showed the kind of man he was, that he would do something like that without ever making any kind of fuss about it, or expecting anything in return. He'll be sadly missed, and I was very grateful to have had him as an uncle.

I was shocked when i heard of Pats death.we spoke eery few weeks for the last 25 years first message from Pat was "Come on Ahane" the spuds are boiling.Although a proud Tipp man he loved to talk about the Mick Mackey Era. I visit Kilcomman cemetry to pay my respects to his cousin Johnny Quigley yearly who lived with me in Raymond St.
The Quigleys are a great proud Tipp family..May the green sod of mount Venus rest lightly on hs grave.
