We have lost our beloved grandad, great grandad and friend, an incredible human being, but luckily heaven has gained an angel with its doors wide open for Pat! Fly high grandad, we love you so much, we all have beautiful lifelong memories of you, full of so much love, laughter, and happiness for which I am truly grateful and which we will cherish forever.

It fills my heart with so much joy knowing that Noah met you and got to have his video chats with 'grandad Pat’, he loved showing you his trains and diggers.

No matter what, you will always be with us in our hearts.

I am sorry for the loss of Pat. I am thankful for the fun times I got to share with him in Ireland. It was so special that my mother and grandmother got to meet him. He brought so much joy to the lives of those around him. I know he always had us in his thoughts. His name will forever live on through our memories. Lots of love to you all.

You are the best Grandad any kid could have wished for. As a child, I would look forward to visiting you and Nana in the summer. You took me on my first trip outside Ireland- a day trip on the ferry to Holyhead, in Wales. On another adventure, we headed to London. No doubt that started the travel bug in me and I now live in Chicago!

I often think of the excitement of meeting you and Nana off the bus in Clonakilty, and going straight into O’ Donovan's for a bottle of coke and a packet of Tayto. Of course there would be tears when we had to say goodbye- just as there are tears now.

As I got older, any chance I could visit I would and I am so thankful for that. You filled my life with love and laughter. We had so much fun.
I’m so glad you got to meet Steph and while you only saw Kian on Facetime, I will make sure he knows who you are, and the important role you had in my life.
