It seems like only yesterday when I first met Pat on a weekend up from Kerry with his brothers.

He had come such a long way since that weekend years ago. I’ll always remember his warmth, determination, and the strength he carried with him. His journey was inspiring, and his presence will be missed dearly.

My twin brother and I were in the same primary school class in St Kevins BNS as Robert and James, from 1972 to 1980. I got to know Pat as their big brother, who was strong minded, very hard working and looked after his mother and 2 younger brothers, from a very early age. I remember in the early 1980s Pat having a Commodore 64 computer which he used to write his own accountancy software, for college projects. He saved and loaded the software from a standard tape cassette recorder. He was an amazing young man. He fought with passion and determination for what he believed in his heart was right, in those hard times of the 1980s and early 1990s. These are the good memories I have of him. May he rest in peace.

Sincere condolences to Muriel and kids and to Jimmy. Pat gave us then students weekend jobs in the 80s when there were none. He was a very generous man. Had great craic with him on his visit to Perth for Robbie's wedding. He was a true family man. May you rest in peace Pat.
