My condolences .
I have great memories of Waxer in the 1970’s to 1990’s . We loved the water & boats .
One memory is having a pint with Waxer and Timmy , Timmy would want to talk politics ! and Waxer would say “ Phil’s on holiday and doesn’t want to talk politics and social history , so we talked Boats , Politics and social History ! Nice memories .

Dear Ida, it was with a great sadness that we heard of the death of your beloved Patrick on Friday last. We are broken hearted and in shock. Our deepest sympathies to you and your extended families at this sad time.
As a youthful teenager,I had the good fortune—or misfortune—to compete with Waxer for a place on the Passage under 16 rowing, hurling, and football teams. The result was often one with which I not happy. He was one tough competitor.
The annual “Heaps and Hollows” Grand National for the young lads of Toureen, and those outsiders lucky enough to get an invitation to participate, was a must event in our youth. By some strange twist of fate the first “horse” past the post was ridden by a member of the O’Sullivan family—-invariably Waxer.
While Waxer was always a force to be reckoned with—please forgive my syntax, Sister Carmel—he also had a heart of gold. He had every hurler of the victorious All-Ireland Tipperary team, sign a Hurley and he then presented it to Marie’s dad—-Mr. Ned Dorney from Skeheenarinke on the occasion of his 100th birthday.
Waxer was indeed a giant at taking care of little things that meant so much to so many. His kindness was beyond compare.
Rest in peace Waxer. You will never be forgotten
