Our family were always close to the Carroll family especially through our shop. My memories of Patsy started with plays in Mell school/church and then as a star in the Drogheda Pantomimes. I also had my GAA moments with him when he and I played for the Plunketts.
May you get strength as you recall the happy memories of his life.

My sincere sympathies to Patsy's family on his death. I got to know Patsy through his involvement with Oliver Plunketts's GFC. He was a great clubman and a proud Louth man. He was always in good form with a smile and a word for everyone with a little devilment thrown into the mix, and loved to back a winner ! He was just a great character and will be sadly missed !

Patsy was a unique person who was well known far and wide by many people. This was because of his gregarious friendly demeanour which was endearing to those with whom he befriended or indeed came across during his long life. In times past, which involved a song or two, Gaelic Football with his beloved St Oliver Plunkett's & Louth or even meeting Patsy socially, was always an occasion which left you feeling good afterwards. It was a pleasure to have known him and I share in the personal sympathies of the many people who lament his sad passing and extend them to his immediate and extended family.

On behalf of Louth GAA Management Committee I send sincere condolence to the Carroll family and extended family on the death of Patsy.
Patsy was a bagman with Louth GAA in the 60's and the 70's. He also was a great story teller and always good to meet with especially his jokes.

He was a unique gentleman well known to many people.

I recently visited him in Sunhill only a few Weeks ago. It was wonderful to meet up with him again.
