So sorry to hear of the passing of Pat, he was a wonderful dancing teacher who always showed great passion. He will be sorely missed.

Coming from France, Pat was my first connection with the Irish culture and I clicked both with Pat and with the Irish dancing. I will remember his love for the dance, his kindness, his sense of humour. And I will never dance the Ballyvourney Jig again without thinking of him.

I was very sorry to hear the sad news about Pat. He was my boss in SSE for a number of years. He was very easy to work for and was very much ahead of his time when it came to flexible working hours and part-time work for parents, particularly women. The work environment he created encouraged many people to continue working there for a long time. My condolences to all his family and friends.

My condolences to all of you on the loss of your beloved husband, father, grandfather and fellow musician. I heard of Pat's passing on Philip King's 'The South Wind Blows' on RTE Radio. He taught me set dancing in Marino from 2014 onwards. He was a wonderful teacher, attentive, joyous and managing to make it great fun for all of us in the class. May his noble soul rest in peace.

Not having met Patsy for quite a number of years, I was truly shocked to learn of his untimely death. Anytime I’ve encountered Patsy in the past it was always a most pleasant and agreeable experience. To his wife Maureen, daughter Caitriona, son Caoimhin and the extended O’Reilly and Prunty families, everyone close, we extend our deepest condolences. May Patsy rest in peace.

My “real” job in Ireland was with SSE in Dublin – and what great memories I have of that time – and of how Pat O’Reilly, “The Boss” played such a part in making it such a wonderful experience.
