Sincere sympathies to the Bowe family and Paul’s friends. May he rest in peace.
Paul was a class act. Thoughtful and wise while and driven by massive bouts of giddy excitement and nostalgia.

From thousands of stories about Antje, Daniel and Dortmund to tactical advice on everything from sports to careers he was both bard and patient listener.

He will be missed terribly by his wonderful, generous and equally excitable family. He left his deep and positive mark on all of us... wild west geologists, curious physicists and inquisitive world travellers...Paul...du fehlst uns.
Deepest sympathy to all of you on the death of your beloved brother Paul. We remember the good days in Merton Road and hope these memories will sustain you all too.
Had the privilege of knowing Paul thru college and even met a number of the Bowe clan at various stages.
Strength and courage to you all in your hour of need!

Time will wash away some of the sadness but the happy, positive memories will stay sharp and fresh in my mind.

Imagine the scene, Geological field trip to Mayo we were lost in the wilderness and caught up in a sudden blizzard. Paul to the rescue "We're not hairy geologists; we're marines" and so we set off, unsure of our destiny, on a 10 mile jog, in search of the nearest public house. We could easily have perished out there; but not with "Bowser" in our midst.
Farewell dear friend!
Patricia, I know that there is really nothing that I can say to ease your pain but be assured that you are in our thoughts and prayers. Please convey our sincere condolences to all your siblings. Take care of yourself and Boc.

As a friend and classmate, recollections of a rebel were common place. Paul had a laugh and could hardly get to the end of a funny story before laughing himself. He took life with good humour and acerbic wit, but could also change to engage seriously and with sincerity on matters that were important.

I have so many reasons to be grateful for Paul in my life but none more so than for sticking by me when it really mattered.

The impact of ‘doing the right thing’ will live on long after Paul.

His stand has already affected the lives of many more, more than we may ever know. It is best understood in a phrase I often quote “To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world”

I loved Paul more than I can say, for his decency, his compassion and his conscionable commitment to ‘doing right’.
Very sorry to hear about Paul's passing. Remembering the good times on our first year geology field trip and our many discussions where he extolled the virtues of the rolling stones. In all the ways that count, a man of wealth and taste.
To Paul's family and extended family
I so enjoyed being in the same laboratory as Paul in UCD, a shared experience I well remembered. I saw him too little after that.

As the singer at your service so beautifully sang:
"Oh, this old world keeps spinnin' 'round
It's a wonder, tall trees ain't layin' down
There comes a time"
... but it should not have been your time coming.
Rest in peace.
Devastated to hear of Paul's untimely passing. My deepest sympathies to all the Bowe family. Paul was a dear friend from our happy days in UCD. I've never known a more curious and enquiring mind. His generosity was limitless and he was great, great fun to be around. Life is less craic without you, Paul. We miss you.
We were very sorry to hear of Paul's death. Our sincere sympathy to all the Bowe family.

To Paul's family I am sorry for your loss. A well liked person from our time in school. He will be missed by his friends and family. Glad to have bumped into him on my last trip home from Australia.
Very sad and shocked to hear that Paul has passed away after his recent illness. I knew Paul and Mick in UCD back in the day, and then bumped into Paul a few times at Leinster matches in the last couple of years, and he was always great company and craic.

My deepest sympathies to the entire Bowe family - R.I.P.
Our sincere condolences to you all at this very sad time. I have very fond memories of trips to Merton Road as a young chap. I was glad I met with Paul on a few occasions during the last 2 years as we hadn't met for many years before that. Such a pity that he never got to enjoy years in retirement. May Paul rest on peace.
