We are just hearing about the sad passing of Paul, may he rest in peace. I had the pleasure of meeting Paul and Betty when his sister in law Maura Cauldwell (nee Hogan) came to visit from Texas. I had also the pleasure of being in touch after the passing of Maura (my Mam's Sister Kay Pender (nee Hogan). We had some great chats and he kept in touch by email. On behalf of Mam and our family I would like to send our condolences to you all. He was a gentleman, I have very fond memories.

Deepest sympathy to Paul’s family. Paul was a gentleman and a great conversationalist with a sense of humour. Every lunchtime he popped in to pick up his Irish Times, which was always reserved for him. It could take a good half hour for the transaction to be completed. May his gentle soul rest in peace.

Paul was always such a gentleman. I used to work in the Tallon's newsagent in Fairview and Paul was one of my first customers. He was so pleasant and a great talker. I often looked forward to his visits to see what conversation he'd bring.
