I got to know Paul from The Gym in Westwood Clontarf. He had always time to say hello and ask how you were getting on. A lovely man, My thoughts and prayers go out to all of his family at this sad time.

Dear Sandra, Tamara-Jade and Tiffany-Erin, Ann and I send our sincere condolences. I have the privilege of having known Paul for 46 years. We served together in 17 Field Ambulance and then 1Medical Battalion Group for 22 years during very challenging years in South Africa.Paul was a great help to me during my years as Commanding Officer of 1Medical Battalion Group. Paul was a soldier with unique qualities and a great friend. He and his team created an environment which allowed we Medical (and Nursing) officers to perform our duties in what were at times difficult circumstances. Our friendship endured for decades after this time.
Typical of his strong character and
resilience, Paul showed great courage in how he fought his battle against his illness.
Paul will always be in our hearts. Our love across these many miles go to you all. God bless. Ian and Ann.

Paul's passing has come as a huge shock especially as he and I go back to 1976 when we first met with my attachment to then 84 Motorised Brigade, Durban, South Africa. Many Military exercises, Angolan War Op's, Warrant Officer's Symposiums and Formal Mess Dinners were shared. May his soul rest in peace and may God help the broken hearts of his loved ones to heal over time.
