PAUL (EUGEN) MATTEJIET

My sincere condolences to Maria, Stefan, Tracy and all the family. I haven`t met Paul too often. Yet I still remember his hospitality when I came thru Waterford 40 years ago on my first backpacking holiday abroad. He took such good care of me.

My heartfelt condolences to you, Stefan, family, and everyone who has been so lovingly involved in our lives through contact with Eugen. During our last phone call, Eugen was still cheerful and in good spirits about his upcoming hospital stay.

After less than a year, he has now followed his big brother. Just as he did in life like when they became mariners.

I’m very saddened to hear about the passing of Paul. I always enjoyed his company when he would come into my workplace, Ardkeen Stores, over the years and enjoyed his stories — particularly about how he knew and drank with The Beatles in Germany before they were famous! I will cherish those memories forever. Rest in heavenly and eternal peace, Paul.
