I have known Paul in the professional, academic and social settings over the last forty years. Paul was an absolute gentleman, kind and generous with his time for students and industry newbies alike. He gave freely of his experience so that we could avoid the pitfalls and progress our own careers that little bit easier.
His stories of adventures and activities in the advertising and corporate video sector were legendary with his infectious laughter creating memorable social occasions.
Paul earned his stripes by sheer effort and dedication and was one of the early pioneers of the burgeoning independent video production sector in Ireland, that influenced a whole new generation of film and video makers.
For that we are indebted.
Paul will be sadly missed by many proteges, but our lives have been enriched by having known him.

Very sorry to hear of Paul's passing. I worked with Paul in what was then the DIT. He was a whirlwind of energy that was infections which made him an absolute joy to work with.

Condolences to Irvine family. Paul and I worked on AFA- Aubrey Fogarty ad agency back in 1972. A most energetic and hugely enthusiastic creative producer with so much energy. Many fond memories of Paul. Those days he was king of the many sponsored radio 15 minute progs around 12 pm to 3 pm on RTE radio one. RIP Paul.

I was so very sad to hear of the sudden passing of Paul and what can I say!… He introduced me to the Advertising world by bringing me down to his office in Rathmines, having me help him with some research, to taking the time to help me with my photography projects for which I will always be so grateful! He will be sorely missed in Floraville one of the true characters who was an inspiration of fashion no matter what the session!

Paul was a colleague of mine at DIT and I am very sad to hear the news of his passing. He was well liked and respected in Aungier Street and I remember him as always cheerful, helpful and kind towards me. I’m sure the loss to his family and friends will be great.

I am happy to have known such a decent person.

It was with shock and a heavy heart that I heard of Pauls passing.

I've known Paul on and off for almost 50 years. I met him when I started in Doherty Advertising and I immediately realised he was a great guy with a great heart.

He loved people and showed it in how he treated everyone with respect and kindness. If he could help you he always would.

He will live long in my heart and I will remember him as a big man with a bigger heart.
