Sincere sympathies Pam on the loss of my Cousin Paul. I have many happy memories of holidays in the Lake District with Paul and our respective families as children. When I was an older Paul was very generous with his time giving me summer jobs helping him. With John I joined him on perhaps his first trip to Ireland in the summer off ‘74, - a fishing trip of course to the Athlone area. Paul had a new music centre in his Van but we only had one cassette - we all knew all the words to “ Band on the Run” by the end of the trip. Many happy memories! RIP Cousin

Back in the days when I compiled the Legan Notes for the local papers I always welcomed Paul’s call on Sunday evenings with the days and weeks news, results, updates from Legan Inny Anglers. These were always delivered in his lovely easygoing Yorkshire accent and with obvious love and enthusiasm for his subject. Paul was one of life’s gentlemen and will be missed by family and all who were fortunate enough to have known him down through the years. May he rest in peace.
