Sincere condolences to the Hussey family on Paul’s sad passing. Paul was a kindhearted and gentle man with a smile for everyone. I was lucky to have worked with him in IDB and learned so much from him - he was generous with his knowledge and helped many people starting out in their careers. Paul’s kindness was legendary. May he rest in peace.
My sincerest sympathy to all the Hussey family. I worked in IDB (Ornua now) from 1989 until 1994 before moving to Germany from 1994 to 1999. I often discussed dairy markets and sometimes career orientation with Paul back as a young fellow in the early 90's.
He was a real gentleman, available, a great inspiration, honest and most trustworthy. He often came into my mind over the years since then.
May Paul rest in peace. My thoughts and prayers are with all the family.
Mes amities,
Philip Campion, Rennes, Brittany, France.

Sincere condolences to the Hussey family on the passing of Paul. I met Paul each year at the Ornua Retirees get together at Christmas. He was an absolute gentleman. May he rest in peace.
As a former colleague of Paul’s in An Bord Bainne ( 1970-2006) , I can echo all the complimentary remarks expressed about Paul in the well deserved tributes and then some !. He truly was a person that once you came in contact, you remembered him. I worked with him in the Dublin office and while I was working in the U.S…We would like to express our sincere condolences to the family of Paul who can take some small comfort in the passing of a person who had a life well lived. Daniel & Mary O’Connell.
Juliette, Danielle, Antonia, Paul and Michael, So so sorry for the loss of your lovely Dad. Many, many memories of him in Brussels and always such a gentleman and so nice to us when we were in each other’s houses. He was so sociable and friendly and it was obvious that he truly enjoyed being in the company of others and having a nice chat. May he Rest In Peace - forever in your hearts
Comhbhrón ó chroí to all the Hussey family on the loss of Paul. I fondly remember Paul and Bernadette’s summer visits to our home in Cois Fharraige to visit my parents, Cáit and Pádhraic. Those visits were full of fun and laughter. Ever smiling. May they both rest in peace.
Juliette, I am sorry that your Dad has died. Any time I met him in Caroline's I enjoyed the conversations and discussions.
My condolences to Paul’s extended family.
I got to know him first when I joined the Irish Dairy Board over fifty years ago, and found him a wonderful, helpful colleague and friend. When he moved to Belgium we enjoyed working together doing pioneering work in the various new European markets then opening to us. I have happy memories of those challenging times together.
Back in Dublin he remained always a smiling, thoughtful friend. Even in the difficult final days, he remained cheerful and welcoming.

We hold fond memories of Paul as a founding member of our golf society some 25 years ago, where we still abide by his creative handicap system to this day.
Paul always brought warmth, humour, wisdom and sound judgement to our after golf gatherings as we settled the affairs of the world.
It was our pleasure to have known him.
Rest in peace, Paul.

In the early 1970's, following Ireland's accession to the EEC, Paul Hussey was An Bord Bainne/The Irish Dairy Board's 'Man in Brussels'.
A true gentleman, a linguist and
erudite, he was highly respected both in Brussels, and in Ireland,
for his vital transitional work on behalf of the Irish dairy industry.
As a colleague, his humanity
was expressed in every interaction, always kind, empathetic and
supportive,
and never judgemental.
That humanity was also
expressed through his
quiet volunteerism with
Vincent De Paul, Lions
and Probus.
An exceptioal human being.
Ní fheicfimid a leithéid arís.
Le meas,
Margaret

It was an absolute privilege and a pleasure to spend quality time with Paul over the last while in his home with his family.
A wonderful soul with a beautiful view on life. He could cheer up anybody with his outlook on things or even just to sit in his peaceful presence surrounded by soft words of encouragement and wisdom. I will carry these moments forward with me through life.
