I was so shocked to read the death notice of Paul.
For many of the years, that I worked in Payroll, UCC, I had many, many communications with Paul at the Computer Centre. It would be extremely difficult to find a nicer person. He was always so kind, helpful, cheerful and good fun. In my payroll dealings with Paul, he always went above and beyond the call of duty. He is such a loss to his family and to all who knew him.

I offer my sincere sympathies to you Darrelle, Peter and your family, on the sad passing of your Dad, Paul. I had the privilege and pleasure of working with Paul for some 20 years. He was a wonderful, highly skilled colleague, who was generous with his knowledge and time. He was kind and generous with his abilities to a Charity with which I was associated for some years. His comfortable arm chair in his office was much used by many of us to sit back and pick his brains, seek his advice and to enjoy almost confessional general chats. Most of all, to me, he was a dear friend. I will miss our walks and a pint. May he rest in peace with his beloved Val.

Paul was one of the founding members of the "Biosciences Early Birds" who met every morning for an early coffee. We discussed all aspects of life and solved many problems in this special 30 minutes. Paul has left us with many great memories from his time as our neighbour in the Western Gateway Building, the many walks he organised, and the various carry-on of the "Biosciences Early Birds". He will be much missed and rest in peace.

It is very sad indeed to hear about Paul's passing. He was always very helpful with computer issues and was always good-humoured (not so easy with computers..). He was the one who decided on your email address in those days..And he also was the one who organized hikes in the West which I very much appreciated. Rest in Peace Paul.

Elizabeth and I send our heartfelt condolences to the family of my close friend and colleague Paul. Our involvement in computer labs for teaching and examining forged a particularly close bond. Paul was the linchpin in fostering friendships among groups of colleagues for coffee, a few scoops and hill walks. Great rugby occasions without a flurry of texts from Paul will never be the same.

Our friendship with Paul and Valerie goes back to the early 70s when they lived in Gillingham and has lasted over the decades. We will miss Paul so much as we do Valerie. He was a lovely man, kind and fun to be around with his quirky sense of humour and gentle teasing.

Dear Darrelle and Family.,

I was shocked and deeply saddened to hear of Paul's death. I have only happy memories of Paul that stretch back such a long way (we were at school together when our Dads worked together). Paul was the finest of gentlemen, as smart as a whip, super professional and always willing to put himself out to do a colleague a good turn. All of his colleagues spoke of Paul in the highest terms and with admiration, warm affection and with gratitude. We were always glad to see Paul coming, relished his company and are now truly sorrowed and saddened by his loss and final departure.
