Karen, we are heartbroken over the passing of your soulmate Paul, a wonderful husband and adoring father of Gareth and Keith. We fondly remember the first time we met Paul, we had a double date with you both in a pub in Beaumount, we were all so young…. in our early twenties. We could see how madly in love you both were, a match made in heaven.

Living in the same area, we have loved bumping into you both out on walks, stopping for chats and banter. Sometimes we would meet Paul out on his own walking his loved dog along the estuary. We also fondly remember meeting you both after a GAA game when we had beers in the BRÚ House in Fairview and reflected on the game.

The great thing about memories is that they live on forever. May all the great treasured special memories you and the boys have give you strength in the times ahead. Paul is such a wonderful person with the most beautiful smile - he embodied what love is. May he Rest in Peace. X🙏❤️

My thoughts are with Paul's wife, sons and his siblings. Despite all he faced, he knew that his wife was always with him, both physically and in spirit. The last few months tested every element of life. Paul showed his wondrous warmth, calmness and joy of family throughout. My deepest condolences to Karen, Gareth, Keith and family. Family meant everything to Paul and he always spoke of you with such pride and love.

Paul was not just a work colleague to me, but a true friend and mentor. Everyday over the last ten years he showed me technical expertise, patience, kindness, laughter and wisdom. He had an extraordinary way of consistently fixing everyone's IT issue while also more importantly connecting with them to make them feel valued.

I'll always be grateful for the way he helped me grow both in work and in life, I will miss him deeply.

I keep thinking of the line, ‘I am not resigned to the shutting away of loving hearts in the hard ground.’ Grief pushes back because love is strong, and nobody is meant to accept losing two dear people so close together. Even though this is the way of the world, love doesn’t go into the ground it stays with us in the memories, the stories, and the small everyday things passed on. I hope that knowing that brings a little comfort. My heartfelt condolences to you and the whole family.
