i’m sorry for your loss. That’s what we say. I’m sorry David Ann-marie Eimear Conor Alan I’m sorry for your loss.
To Marie and Family, my deepest sympathy to you all on the passing of Paul. As you can see from the kind words of everyone he was a gentleman. We had many a good night in mam and dads (John & Kay) playing poker of a friday night , I think he left that gentleness at home as he showed no mercy with us with that poker face of his , great great memories and fun was had by all with him and of course the topic of conversation all night was football. He was a legend himself both on and off the pitch. Rest in peace paul .
Marie, Ann Marie, Emer, David, Conor and Alan.
It is with such sad sorrow that I write this note of condolence. Thank you to all of the Lenehan family for giving Paul such a beautiful service and allowing us to be present over the web. He would be so so proud of you all, and the words and sentiments you shared. I loved the symbols and of course the Glasnevin Football remarks.
You are so right David, family was his first love, but you are not wrong about Glasnevin Football Club, as he treated us like his second family. He had a wonderful gift of how to play the game and managing his players, that just playing for him was such a joy. He knew when to pull in the reigns or let us play our own game.
Paul sharing his family with us, was an even bigger gift, them all pulling up on game day to watch us play, Marie leading the way. As this showed us how you should also look after your own family, and your fellow friends, while still doing all he did for the community. He taught us how to lose with composure (not easy, but he did), he taught us to win with humility and appreciation for our competition.
So thank you to Marie and all the Lenehan family for giving us the gift of time with "your Dad". I will always be grateful for the memories he helped build in the "Diggers" community.
RIP Paul, I know you are already pulling together our Diggers' lads above, and soon we will hear, "How'sy Ref" from the heavens'. I will have a 7-Up to cheer you guys on tonight!

Sincere condolences to Marie and all of Paul's family on the sad passing of Paul. He was great for a joke and a true gentleman. I have very fond memories of him at many Amateur Football League matches and events over the years with Dad and at Bohs matches in later years. When I used to answer the landline to him on the many occasions he would call the house during his League days, he would tell me I was looking well which always made me laugh. I was the late Kay Kennelly's brother (part of the diaspora to England) and often visited the 'old' home in Vernon Avenue. I remember well the evenings Paul, Marie, Noel and Kay met up there. They were meals that lasted well into the night. The 'craic' was infectious and permeated the house; one could only envy the laughter and the fun had by all four of you. *HAPPY DAYS *CHERISHED MEMORIES* Paul, Noel and Kay will be fondly remembered for the 'Joie de vivre' they shared with so many of us. H.C.
I first got to know Paul through the Amateur League, where I spent many weekends in my early twenties watching matches. My partner played regularly, so I was a familiar face in the crowd. At the end of the season, during the award ceremony, Paul surprised me with a bouquet of flowers to acknowledge that I hadn’t missed a single game. It was such a thoughtful gesture. He was a true gentleman. May he rest in peace.
To Marie & family I’m so sorry to hear that your husband best friend and life partner has passed away. Thinking of you at this sad time.

My condolences to all of Paul's family. I met Paul in my role as secretary of Urban Celtic F.C. We appeared before Paul on a number of disciplinary issues. I found Paul very fair and knowledgeable and always ready with a retort when some of the excuses given strayed into the unbelievable. That I remember him speaks for the man.
