Very sad to hear of the sudden passing of Paul. Paul welcomed me and a number of friends onto his farm to run charity lamb races for a number of years. No doubt it was great entertainment watching us trying to herd sheep and separate out the lambs the first year. I remember Paul being a bit bemused as I insisted on taking pre-race photos of each individual lamb so that I could give them to their sponsors along with a race report. But regardless he held over a hundred lambs for me to take their pictures. I have many happy memories of the exciting sprint finishes and of us choosing lambs on the day to suit their names like Baaa-rack-o-lamba, Mutton to Lose, Lester Gigot and there was always a Ballynoe Babe in the field. And afterwards, there would be a post-race analysis over free-flowing tea and sandwiches in the kitchen. We held our tenth and last race last year just before Paul retired. Many good causes have benefited over the years from Paul and Nicky's generosity in hosting the lamb race.
