Paul McBride

Paul was a wonderful classmate and friend during our time in King's Inns and beyond. We will miss his New Year's greetings which he sent faithfully. Our condolences to his mother, family and friends at his untimely death. May he Rest in Peace.

My deepest condolences and profound sympathies to the McBride family following Paul's untimely passing. Paul was a wonderful friend and confidant, a steady, wise and grounded person of enormous intelligence, warmth and gentleness. I will miss our travels, meals, walks, talks, theatre trips, sharp wit and lively conversation. It is clear from the outpouring of feeling evident in these many condolences that his legacy is assured in both his personal and professional life. In particular, Paul's work in his community over many years touched many lives for the better, including mine. Perhaps the ultimate testament to his life is that he left the world a little better than he found it. Those of us who were lucky to call him friend will miss him dearly. May all our hearts heal in time. Rest in peace gentle soul.

Shocked and saddened to hear the news of Paul’s passing at such a young age. Having known him from his Trinity days, we had the odd glass of wine around Baggot St in recent years and he was an insightful and thoughtful observer on many things. But most of all he was a very decent and kind person. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

So sorry to hear of Paul's untimely death. We were friends as boys in Croydon at St Mary's Primary School, and later met up when he was at Trinity and I was at Durham. I've often thought of him over the years. May Paul rest in peace, and rise in glory.

My sympathies to Paul's family for this terrible loss. We were classmates in TCD, and Paul took me under his wing when I was struggling a little to adjust to the place. I envied his balance and grace. He was kind, funny, smart and always seemed to know more about exactly what was going on in whatever world we were interested in at the time.

I was very saddened to hear of Paul's untimely passing. He was a valued colleague and a good friend over many years in the Central Bank of Ireland. He was gentle, kind, thoughtful, witty and very good company, with an impressive knowledge of a vast range of subjects. My sincerest condolences to his family and all those affected by his sad loss.
