Paul McSweeney

I have just heard of the tragic passing of Paul, and pass my sincerest condolences to his family. I did not know him well but in the few meetings that I had with him in recent years I was very impressed with his enthusiasm, his communication skills and his general manner, very polite, a great listener and an intelligent man.

I'm still so shocked that Paul has passed away. He was such a lovely, positive and active person, great for a neighbourly chat. Most times we spoke, he was on his way out for a cycle or just back from a cycle, always enthusiastic about where he had been or was going to go. I was very sorry to have missed the ceremony today but just watched it online and am in awe of the amazing job that Gemma, Eleanor, Richard, Hannah and Grace did at speaking and singing. I looked forward to Wednesday tennis so much with Paul. Tennis was almost secondary to the mighty craic we had solving world issues, discussing music, the planet, health, ski holidays and especially family. Paul loved and was so proud of his family. His face would light up with excitement with the thought of his next ski trip or holiday with the family.
He had a rediculously powerful tennis backhand which none of us could deal with. Lovely times.
