To Lea, Poppi, Sue, Des and Mary, I am so utterly sorry for your enormous loss. I have always held Paul/Fido in the highest regard. I saw him last in 2019 and it was as if we were picking up where we left off. So easy and relaxed - just like Paul. Thinking back over the years and looking at photos from back then I am warmed and saddened to remember all the fun, laughing and messing. I feel so lucky to have known Paul. In his words and actions he always placed them above all else in life. May we all carry on that love on in our hearts and smile as we remember him.

Fido, there are no words to even comprehend this. I always think of you so fondly, and how kind you were to the annoying, pest of a little sister of your friend. But you were always laughing, smiling ...messing. Thank you for letting me be a part of that.

I will continue to cherish the birthday card you gave me in Fran's flat many years ago, off Dame St. Unfortunately a few other names on there are no longer with us either. May you reconnect and carry on buzzing together. What a sesh that will be!

Dear Mary and Des, Susan, Lea and Poppi, I was very saddened and shocked to hear of Paul’s too early passing. Lea and Poppi, I know we’ve never met but I’m sure Susan, Mary and Des, will tell you we were the best of childhood friends growing up in Kill Abbey. Paul was my best friend. He lived next door. We did everything together as kids. We played Lego, dinosaurs on the rockery in Derek’s back garden, later Star Wars. Bikes, chasing, and even kiss-chasing with the girls (no names!). Running away from the “Boots” on a daily basis. Getting up to all sorts of mischief with Derek and Donal. Paul was 2 years older than me so I looked up to him like an older brother. Paul inspired me with a love of music and reading, two passions that are still with me to this day. Paul always had the coolest new shoes or funky hairstyle. He was always one step ahead with the latest hip music trend: Rockabilly, Psychobilly, Ska, Two-Tone. He was never Fido to me, always Paul. When my family moved out of Kill Abbey, Paul and I drifted apart, but we met up on a few fleeting occasions, one Halloween night as teenagers v memorable. Even though I had not seen Paul for many years, and heard he was happily married and living in Australia, Paul together with Mary and Des and Susan helped give me and my sister Orla the happiest of childhoods, and Paul was a very big part of that. Such fun times, such laughter, such happy memories. Thanks for all the great memories Paul. With much love and warmth xx Eoin
