Rest in Peace man

My wife and myself had the accidental and absolute pleasure of Paul's company this July on a flight from Cork to Malaga. His passion and pure divilment were very close to the surface! He was sad, strong, joyful all at once, and the sense of a life well lived was very clear.

He was insightful about his illness, talking about it seriously but with dark humour, all the while urging us to make the most of life. He called Lorna his Angel repeatedly. His stories were brilliant, and the flight passed far too quickly.

It really was a treat to meet someone like Paulie, who I wish I'd known properly. We both texted him afterwards but didn't get an answer, and I suppose we know why now. I was really sad to learn of his death today.

Rest in peace Paulie. Glad to have met you.

I am very sad to hear of pauls passing i played with him in street talk back in 2005 i play drums a great guitarist the best in cork and he could sing realy well May he RIP

Fond memories of our one and only gig in Passage in the GAA club. During the sound check the place went on fire! We ended up playing in a tiny local pub down the town. The show must go on! You said it and you did it bro!

I met Paulie recently. We chatted and we jammed and I consider myself very lucky to have me him when I did. His openness and enthusiasm, and not to mention his talent, offered me lessons on life and in music which I am all the better for. He will undoubtedly be missed by any of those who have met him.

I only heard today of Paulie's passing. He was some man on the fretboard. I have super memories of Paulie going head to against my brother Tim Mc Donnell at various sessions back in the day.

The last time I saw Paul was flying down Carrigmahon Hill about 2 years ago on a bicycle! I remember thinking fair play to him, he never changed! Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dilís. Rest in peace Paulie.
