My sincere sympathy to you all.Fond memories of great times playing music with Paul and Paudie.God rest them both.

Only just heard of the sad news about Paul. He came to record some music with me last summer and I had such a great time doing so. I found him to be such a gentleman with a kind and thoughtful energy and I'm very sorry to hear of his passing. My sincere condolences to his family and friends.

To the O'Brien families, both Carrick-on Suir and Lahinch.
So sad to hear of Paul's death, reminded me of good times in Castle Street and camping in Lahinch with John and meeting his cool brother on the Honda 125.

We first met 54 years ago as classmates in Cistercian College Roscrea, and while, sadly, we rarely met in the intervening years, the memory of a friend and rugby team-mate is as strong as ever - the smile, the colourful and natty attire, and the transistor(!) seemingly permanently held up to the ear to catch Radio Luxembourg !
Wonderful memories of one of the really good guys, who enriched the lives of all with whom he came in contact.

Very sad to read of Paul's death this morning, even though it was probably at the end of a Castleview open week in the early 1970s we last met. However, I was at Kilmainham, too – though not dancing in the aisles. ‘Lift me like an olive branch and be my homeward dove. Dance me to the end of love’. Paul and music, a thread throughout. I can imagine him as a twinkly grandfather, too. My condolences to all those who are mourning today.

We remember him from the days back in the Aberdeen arms when he was working with our family and met Theresa.. our late mother Phil had great time for Paul with his lovely manners and kindness for everyone.
He had a joy of life and an easy approach to the conflicts of life. He was always a pleasure to meet. We are at a loss with his passing. He is cherished by the Vaughan family. It was an honour to know you Paul. Go safely with God RIP
