I cannot remember the first time I met Paul but we had so much in common both Northsiders, both ex Chanel College - years apart as he was younger, and both with a love of classic cars. He was a great colleague and always had the knack of finding the 'smart' way of doing things, since I left SJH in 2007 I lost touch with him but true to form Paul showed up at my retirement night out in 2018, sadly I will not be able to return the compliment however he has left a legacy of being one of nature's true gentlemen and an ambassador for the goodness of a full life.

To Pauls parents, my deepest sympathies for your loss. I had the privilege of working with Paul for many years. Lots of singing, lots of jokes and always a kind word… very knowledgeable too and generous with it. Gone but never ever forgotten by any of us in Haematology in SJH.
Dear Sadie and Sean,
I hope the wonderful words written here by Paul's many friends can offer you some small comfort in knowing how much Paul was loved, the impact that he had on people, and the joy that he brought the world. This is the saddest time. He was a great friend back in the schooldays. I remember, like it was yesterday, him dragging me to your Coolock home from school, to immerse ourselves in all things Star Wars... then as we grew up ( or did we? ) it was Malahide, denim n leather and heavy metal thunder. Paul always led the charge in finding the fun and, like Gordon said already, the 'shenanigans' (with Eamonn too) . God bless the shenanigans.
Codladh sámh Huggy.
