About my friend Paul: I think of his remarkable dedication -- to his family, to his friends, to his work. It was a privilege to work with him, to travel with him, to be in his company. He always made you feel that he would be there for you if things turned difficult.
Thinking back, I realize how his life held more losses and suffering than most people experience. Yet his good humour and helpfulness were what I always experienced with him, and those qualities hid his self-sacrifice.
— Joe Thornton
I was so saddened to hear of Paul's death. My deepest sympathies to his mother Ann, to Wen and the children. I remember Paul's eagerness and enthusiasm, all the days we soldiered together around the streets of south Dublin, and the fun card nights we had in Clonmore Rd. Too young, too soon. You will all miss him
— Eithne Fitzgerald
So sad to hear of Paul's death. He was brilliant for us, closing our house sale in difficult recession times, always with good humour.
