Remembering a dear friend. Paul was a great and exceptional guy. It was my pleasure to have known him for over 28 years. He has received many plaudits over the last week or so for his contributions to cricket as a player, club administrator, provincial administrator and as an elite umpire and ICC panel member. However, more importantly remembering him as a person of great integrity, open mindedness and leaving a lasting legacy of which he should be very proud. He was exceptionally generous in the giving of his time and would always assist in every way he could and had time for everyone.
My sincerest and heartfelt condolences to you Jennifer,Rhys,Ieuan,Iestyn and to his dad Clive and brothers Dave and Mark on the other side of the Irish Sea.
You certainly were one of a kind. RIP Reno 🏏

Deepest condolences to Jen, Rhys, Ieuan, Iestyn, Paul's entire family and his vast network of friends. It was evident to all, even those who met him briefly, that Paul was a wonderful person, always ready to lend a hand to anyone who was in need. His loss will be keenly felt by so many across the world.

I was so shocked and deeply saddened when learning about Paul's passing this week. I have such happy and fond memories of him during our many Aber Cricket Old Boys weekends from the great post match celebrations to the relaxing Sunday afternoons watching Sky Sport and reading the newspapers at the pier.

I was shocked to hear of the untimely passing away of Paul. Jen & family my sincerest condolences of your loss of husband & best friend and father. He was a character, the glint in his eye you knew his up to or going to say something funny. We played on the same team for many glorious season. We service on many committees together and he will sorely missed in the dressing room and bar afterwards. Rob Kenealy shared a video of his recent awards ceremony in September 2023. Sad news to hear of Paul's passing. My sincerest condolences to all his family, friends and colleagues. As a cricketing parent and Munster administrator I had the immense pleasure of meeting Paul over many years of Interpros, future series and others. One of the most respected umpires, engaging to talk to and a true spirit of the Irish game. May he rest in peace.

So sorry to hear of Paul's tragically early passing. I never had the pleasure of standing in a match with hin, buut from what I have heard & seen, he made an enormous contribution to Irish cricket & was an inspiration to the current crop of Irish umpires. My sympathies to his wife & family.
