Hi Brendan,
I just heard the news from John Curl. I have been seeking your email for the last days on all computers
and labtops, to no avail.
My deepest thoughts are with you and all family members.
I knew Paul for about 6 or 7 years. We played on the same football team as well. He was a 'Norman bite yer legs type'.
Best from Saigon, Vietnam in these difficult times.

Although i am not your student and i did not see you in XJTLU, i heard something about you. Many people said you are a very nice person.
I believe that you will be happy in the paradise.
I believe that you will be happy in the paradise.
Dear Mr. Ryan,
I always used to call you by your family name to show my respect, but now I realize that this might be the last time to call you like that.
It is you who offered me a brand-new experience to learn English and treated a wired girl full of questions to ask with most patience. I still remembered those times when finishing the class, I came up with lots of questions and you were always smiling to answer. I really wanted to be one of the students who you liked most, but now there is no chance to ask you if I really am. If you’re looking at me now in paradise, smiling like usual, please answer me...
I still remembered when we SCI-B5 gathered together to have a meal, you pointed at a dish and asked "zhe shi shen me?" which means "what's this?". It was the cutest scene I've ever seen. At the end we took a photo together and I was holding your arm. How I wish I could hold you even longer!
Hearing we're going to change tutors in semester 2, I always looked forward to see you again someday in the hallway and say hi. I still keep your email replying mine. You said "Sinh nien kwai le" to me and praised me as a hard-working student, which really motivated me to study harder in order not to let you down.
There are still countless words I haven't spoken out and endless memories of the time we spent together buried in my mind. I will remember you forever. Send you a bunch of my favorite flower Convallaria majalis and wish you rest in peace in paradise.

Paul' s death likes a thouder from the clear sky. It was so sudden that I didn't believe the sentences on the screen at the first time. He is a very good guy wherever he goes.
Paul is very kind in his teaching.... As his student, we are sad....
You may be gone, but you will never be forgotten. Rest in peace Paul
It is truly a privilege to have spent time with Paul, through playing football and having a few pints and a chat. Already missed, Always remembered. Rest in peace mo chara.

I'm so sorry to hear this bad news. You were a wonderful teacher and I will remember you forever! Wish you everything is good in heaven! Sleep well my teacher.
Rest in peace old friend
Mr Ryan is one of the best teacher I have ever meet. His bright smile and positive attitude always brought a sunny day for us. He is a nice tutor and I still remembered he encouraged us all the time and told us we spoke excellent English,I still remember the lesson we had. He never got mad even we sometimes spoke in Chinese, he understood we were shy and nervous and he always gave us a smile, kind and bright.
We all love you and forever. Sleep well and have a nice trip in Paradise.

I am too shocked to say anything. You are a good person and a good teacher. I will miss you, forever. Rest in peace.
I was totally shocked and very sad. I still have your photos on my phone, a man with a big smile. So many times I passed by your office and wanted to have a talk with you, but you were not there. I wondered where you were. But now I know. You are a great teacher and a nice father. Sleep well Paul.

Paul was a friend. A sincere intelligent guy, a good listener, someone who knew what was important in life.
I am sorry for his family who will miss him terribly, but also proud to have known him and, reading all these tributes, it's clear that these feelings are shared by many of you around the globe. To Paul !

I want you to know that Paul was one of the few people I really contected with at work. I could always share a joke with him and talk on a pure no bullshit level, there was always a twinkle in his eye, which is rare. He was a dear friend and I will miss him very much. My thoughts are with you all.

As the 20 years passed in my life, Mr Ryan is one of the best teacher I have ever meet, his bright smile, vigorous attitude had deeply effected all of his students. Every time I meet him, I can actually feel that his passion of living on the world. For the knowledge and happiness he brought us, I cannot believe that our God of grace take such a good man from us even this message has been confirmed.
I still remember the lesson we had. For the Chinese students only competent in a listener, but too shy to speak, he encouraged us by his poor Chinese, it was fun in that moment and made us communicate in English. Now the only thing we can help ourselves to recall that time is the video in computer.
Paul is a awesome teacher and friend, I will miss him. A person like him may not want to see us stay in sorrow, especially you Niamh. As elder youth and a boy who have ever lost his family member, I believe that you can taken heart and face your life in future.
The wheel of destiny shall never stop, but we human can change the direction of it. Never curse the cruel fate, never imprecate the ruthless death, with the happiness the departed saint brought us, we shall rise and attempt for our own felicity with his blessing from Paradise.

Have recd the news here in New Zealand and we are deeply shocked. Our times in Saigon with Paul, and with Ged, Jo, Kevin and all will always be special memories. Deepest condolences to Brendan and family.
I am one of your students in skill class. You are a very nice person always with smile. I had fantastic semester with you. You not only taught us English, but also talked interesting things which had occured in Ireland. You played football with our college football team. Raymond told me you are very positive and energetic. You look like a 20 years old young guy.Now I am very sad to hear this news.we will miss you forever. rest in peace.
I was so sad to hear that Paul had passed away. I remember talking to him about his long long bike ride from the city of Suzhou to the the city of Wuxi in China and how impossible it was to find the centre of the city. We laughed because I am from New Zealand and as people from small countries we always struggle to come to terms with size in big countries. I will always remember him as a kind and gentle man.
So glad to have known Paul, if only briefly. One of those blokes who added to the sum of human happiness. Sadly missed.
It was great to play football with Paul for the Tubbies and Ganesh, to go out for long bike rides and share many nights out in Taiwan, Vietnam and China. Really one of life's good guys, things are not the same without him.
Sorry you didn't make it back mate, but you'll be fondly remembered by all who knew you. Your family may be proud of you as a very kind man indeed who achieved much and lived with dignity and decency. Go in peace.
Paul was a good teacher, really. He always smiled in class and put up with whispering. He even printed the essay for us. When heard the bad news, I was very sad and shocked. Rest in peace.
I am so sorry to hear that. Paul, you are the best teacher in my mind.
Still remember the first day Paul came to the secretary office, he was so calm and friendly. With Deepest Sympathy. From Betty.
sI'm a XJTLU student and I'm not Paul's students, whereas I'm very sorry to hear about this. Goodbye, Paul, rest in heaven.
I'm a student in XJTLU. He always smile. In the skill class, we had much time to communicate with group mates to improve our English. He always designed English games for us and told us something useful because he was EAP teacher for other students. And sometimes he used the words 'deng yi xia' which means 'wait' to catch our attention and made the classroom filled with laughter.
When the last class ended, I talked with my classmates about 'che zhan', which means 'bus station' in Chinese. He seemed have great interest for this word, and ask me for the word's pronunciation. I asked him if he like the Manchester United. He said, Yes. I was very happy and said if we had time we could talk about it.
The next semester came. we had new EAP ans skiil teacher. It's common in our school. I had never seen him this year so I think maybe he got a new job.
Tonight, I know he went to the heaven.
It shocked me because he seemed so active and health. I try to recall all the things that he had done. He always smile, and sometimes he said 'wait' in Chinese and we laugh. He said, I will talk about it (the Manchester United) with you the next time.
I know. I will wait.

Goodbye my friend. I'm so sad to see you go. You always had a positive attitude and that frame of mind was contagious.
It was your lust for life that got me of my arse and leave London to join you in Asia. Your friends that you met in Taichung were devastated when they heard the news . I'm saddened that the weekend on the lash we had in Hong Kong was to be our last, but the great times we had together will always be in my memories.
My thoughts are with Niamh. I know you were the most important thing in the world to your dad. You made him so proud and he loved you so much. My heartfelt condolences to the Ryan family too.
With love and fond memories of Paul. Andy

Very, very sad to hear of his passing.
I worked with Paul briefly and played in the same football team. He was one of the world's nice guys and was always optimistic. Last December we travelled for work in China and even when we got lost, had no time for food, bored from work, he was still there laughing and seeing the pint half full.
Our thoughts go to his family and especially his daughter who he talked about so much.

I'll remember Paul as a very friendly and generous colleague, professional and yet modest about himself and his achievements. I especially respected Paul in the way he handled adversity - whether it was the initial diagnosis and treatment of the illness, or reacting to a fire in his apartment, he seemed to retain his calm, positive approach to life, and never allowed his difficulties to affect those around him. You were a great teacher in so many ways, Paul, a great example of how to live. Safe journey.
Always remember you paul an absolute gentleman Rip mo chara
Paul was a great colleague, always chipper and friendly. His smile certainly cheered Lou up after the Phu Quoc marathon had taken it out of them both. Sad to see him go so soon.
Thanks for your contribution to our school, rest in peace.
Paradise has no pain. Have a nice trip my dear teacher, lovely and nice teacher.
It was a great shock to hear that Paul left us forever. He was a good teacher. His class was very interesting. He always played with us and I remember he was always a kind and patient person. Today, Paul left us but he will be remembered by us. Rest in peace Paul.

The world is unpredictable. R.I.P
I'm a Chinese student from Xjtlu, a Chinese university. I don't know how to put it. Wish your rest in peace, Paul Ryan.
I could not cloaked my sorrow when i heard this shocked news. It just like yesterday, i still remember clearly that my classmates and i sat in his class and talk with him. Paul was a wonderful language teacher and a nice friend to me, and he will be missed by all of his students.

I am very sad to hear the bad news. Paul was the nicest teacher I met. The last words said to him was" I will miss you" at the end of last term. Now, I want to say " I will miss you, forever".
So shocked and deeply saddened to hear the news. Paul was a lovely man with a great laugh and he was always a pleasure to be around. We were fortunate enough to have worked with him and grateful for his never-ending consideration, support and kindness. We were also lucky enough to be able to call him a friend, and we will never forget the nights out with him in HCMC, especially the singing and dancing to the King. We will miss you mate, and we are thinking of you and your family and friends. R.I.P. Pablo, a beautiful fella.
Miss you already mate. The discussions on topics far and wide with a beer or wine handy. I could never keep up with your skill in football, snooker, pool, golf or darts despite many hours practising. One of the most 'genuine' people I've had the privilege of knowing. R.I.P.
Paul was the best teacher. Rest in peace Paul Ryan.
I am very sad. Althought we know each other only one year, he is very important for me, for us. In my heart, Paul is not just a teacher. He is our friend. He taught us a lot and brought many joy to us. I am sure that he will have a better life in paradise. His family will get his blessing. Sleep well my friend.
"Our lives are streams flowing into the same river towards whatever heaven lies in the mist beyond the fall. My dear friend, close your eyes and let the waters take you home."

Paul was a very good teacher. He's always patient with people and had a smile for everyone. I'm very sad that I will never see him again. At this very moment, no words will suffice to convey my grief. We will always be with you. Rest in peace Paul.
Very sad to hear that my kind, friendly and humorous teacher has gone. We all will remember you and your class. The thing that you taught me will be remembered in my mind and heart forever.
