Deepest condolences to Paul’s family and many friends. We worked together in the early days of Newstalk and occasionally crossed paths in RTÉ. I remember his warmth, his dry, self-deprecating humour and sharp intelligence — a colleague of great integrity who’ll be sorely missed.

I hope the high esteem Paul was held in by everyone who worked with him will be of some comfort to his family at this terrible time. Paul was brilliant but also very kind, and never wanted people to suffer. Ní bheidh a leithéid aríst ann.
To Paul's family, my sincere condolences on your loss. I well remember his incredible intelligence, wit, warmth and kindness from knowing Paul in TCD many years ago. May your many happy memories comfort you all in these very difficult days.

A kind, calm and effective presence in RTÉ, personifying the best of our organisation. A decent and astute colleague, who gently guided stories to air with minimum stress and maximum care. Deepest sympathy to all his bereaved loved ones. Suaimhneas Síoraí.
Like all of his RTE colleagues, I felt very lucky to have spent time working with Paul on Morning Ireland, at home and abroad. Paul was a dedicated, perceptive and above all a very decent personal to work with.
My deepest sympathy to his family and to all who knew him.
Sincere condolences to Paul’s family. While I never worked with Paul in RTE , the shockwaves across the organisation is testimony to the esteem he was held in. To be taken at such a young age is deeply tragic. May Our Lord in his infinite wisdom take him to his loving arms.

Very sorry to hear of Paul’s passing. He was a big part of the early days of Newstalk and he was supportive, friendly and encouraging to me as I nervously stepped into the world of news and current affairs.
My deepest sympathy to Jessica and his family.
Paul and I worked together at Ireland.com and later at Morning Ireland where he loved to invite me for a “walk and talk” along the RTE corridors. He was funny and smart and incredibly generous. I still regret I never brought him back those pants he wanted from Argentina. RIP Paul, and thanks for all of it. Condolences to his family.
As an Editor in Newstalk Paul was always calm and assured, with an excellent sense of judgment.
As a colleague he was positive and with that sharp sense of humour he kept everyone’s spirits up.
As a friend he was constantly supportive, mentoring young journalists and offering advice.
Sympathies to Jessica and his family. Rest in Peace Paul.

Very saddened to hear of Paul’s passing and my deepest sympathy to his family, friends and work colleagues.

I used to work with Paul some 20 years ago in Newstalk. He was always full of energy and ideas, sharp-witted and fun to be around. I remember when he worked on the breakfast show, he used to ring up the newsdesk at night to find out what the weather would be like the following day (in the days before smartphones!).

Suaimhneas síoraí dá anam agus go lonraí solas air.
To the Tanney family our deepest sympathy on your great loss.
