Dearest Brenda. I am so sorry to hear of the loss of Paul. I remember how he filled a doorway with a huge smile on his face, always welcoming and warm and always interested in you, his little sister, and what you were up to. My sincere condolences to Michele, Robert, Dylan and the Tobin family. I am truly sorry to hear of Paul’s passing. I worked with Paul on a project during covid. He spoke so highly of his family and told me the mischief the boys would get up too. He was so incredibly proud of them. Paul had such a big heart and there was many a day he would give me great advice both professionally and personally. He had the most infectious laugh and every time we would bring up his cycling plans you were bound to hear it. May he rest in peace.

Paul was a REAL lifelong friend to all who knew him. He was not phony, super "dude-man" funny,... a "Monty Python" like/ one man circus show,.... coupled with a brilliant wit to match.
Our friend was also seriously minded, highly educated, articulate in many areas of shared interest. His amazing personality could bring both light / heat to the darkest and coldest of rooms.
His many gifts and big heartedness will never be forgotten by me and my amazing wife, Vicky. I hope that if there is a real "Temple Bar" in the heavens above, that Paul will be found dancing his magic act on top of it.
My dear friend, your spirit remains with us 4 ever and for those who loved you so dearly. It was our greatest life privilege to have known you and to have shared so many magic times with you in Dublin, Prague and the USA.

On hearing this news recently I was genuinely gutted by this news. I briefly had known Paul working for Apple a couple of years ago. He was full of life and mischief. He always filled the room and we chatted daily for a few months on a joint project. The world is a sadder place with him not in it. My heartfelt condolences and prayers to his family whom he loved and taked about all the time. I hope the “tech” is working for you up in heaven, only you know and I know what that means! sleep well pal.

I only heard of the terribly sad news of Paul’s passing yesterday. I had the fortune of working with Paul for a short duration during lockdown. Paul was so bubbly, full of chat and had a great big hearty laugh that lifted our spirits often. He spoke of his sons with so much pride. I am deeply sorry for his family’s huge loss. RIP Paul, your gentle soul and kind heart will be greatly missed.

To Michele, Robert, Dylan and all Paul's family, my sincere condolences to you all, I worked with Paul during Covid and his good humour was the thing that comes to mind when I think of him, he would throw his head back and laugh at least once a day when we were on zoom calls, he was a wonderful and kind professional to work with and he regularly talked about his family with genuine care. This is such sad news. I went to school with Paul and remember him then as a bright, genuine guy. I met him regularly over the years and he always had a cheerful, enthusiastic greeting and an interesting story. Recently, we had lively discussions at Belvedere lunches. I even bumped into him while we were both out cycling at the base of Kippure last summer - definitely unexpected! I’m sorry that I was away last week and didn’t make Paul’s funeral. My deepest sympathies to his wife and sons and wider family. He will be missed.

Sincere condolences to Paul’s family and friends. Paul was one of the best characters I’ve known in BOI. A true gentleman with a brilliant sense of humour and charm. We will miss our lunchtime chats and stories. RIP Paul.

Paul was in Belvedere the year behind me and I remember him very well from school as a jovial and interesting guy.

In more recent times, Paul attended the Belvedere Union dinner and he became a regular and most welcome guest at our 1983 table. You could place Paul anywhere amongst the 10 seats at our table and he would be warmly welcomed. Paul’s gentle presence would always add to the occasion each year. I was terribly shocked and saddened when I heard the news about Paul. Unfortunately, it was too late for me to attend Paul’s funeral, which I would like to have done as a mark of respect to Paul who was greatly valued by his classmates and those in the years either side of Paul’s year. To his family I extend my deepest condolences. Paul will be remembered by us whenever we convene at the Dinner. May Paul rest in peace

I first met Paul in Munich through our mutual friend Simon when he became our impromptu Oktoberfest guide back in 2005. That we should learn this news while there this year was especially poignant. Paul - there is a glass of beer for you at your Fountain and a candle is burning in the church next door. Condolences to your family - the world has truly lost one of a kind.
