As hard as this to write with tears building up in my eyes. I just can’t comprehend that you have gone. As a young child and when Nanny left us you had taken the role to look after me when I was with you. Mam always knew I was in safe hands and didn’t have to worry where I was. You were like a second Mam to me. I have always looked up to you and knew I was safe with you.

From when the sun came up, I would always be at your door step to wake you. I knew I would always have fun with you doing our colouring in, enjoying the sun in our warmer weather, having Uncle Gerry take me to the chipper to get our curry and chips for dinner. You have shown me so much, how to be a gentleman and I have always cherished that. Your humour had always brought great laughter and a smile that I could not wipe off my face. I had always looked forward to coming home for a visit from Australia and get a great big hug from you. This has gone now and I will never forget them. These memories will always be with me.

It killed me making my last phone call to you I couldn’t get words out of my mouth from the distress and hearing you in pain. I was broken. You are free from your pain and are reunited with Uncle Gerry and Uncle Pat. I’m sure the three of ye have a lot to catch up on.

Rest easy Aunty Pauline, I will always miss you!! I love you with all my heart.

So terribly sorry to hear this news . I used to meet Pauline on the bus every evening on our way home from work.
She was always in great humour. Pauline was very proud of her children, Niamh and Shane and will be a big loss to them so soon after her Husbands passing.
