I worked in Marian for five years. I will always remember Pauline for her warmth and generosity. She was always ready to help and support in whatever way she could. She will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

She was one of the first people in the school who welcomed me and it was always a pleasure to have our long chats between coffee breaks and sometimes a quick chat in the school office.

My condolences to Stephen on the death of his beloved mum, Pauline. Condolences also to James Foley who worked so closely with Pauline at Marian College. For the past three decades, the College was blessed to have had Pauline as a most valued member of staff. Not alone did she take great pride in keeping the school looking as well as possible but she also played a huge role in keeping staff and students feeling as well as possible. Her friendly smile, her kind word, her safe haven, her natural empathy, her optimistic outlook all meant so much to everyone navigating the daily challenges of busy school life. Nothing was ever too much for her whether helping to settle the first years with their books or uniforms or calming the sixth years as they took their Leaving Cert exams. Now her race is run, all too early. Stephen, she was so proud of you as she watched you as a pupil and then a graduate of Marian College. You have truly done her proud and many of the phrases which will be used to describe your mum can also be used to describe you. Through you, Pauline’s legacy will live on. May she rest in peace.
