Sincere sympathy to Una and all Peadar’s nieces and nephews, it is with great sadness that I learned of the death of Peadar, very fond memories of all the Fitzgeralds in Darrara where I grew up and also of Nellie his life companion.May they both rest in peace.

My deepest sympathies to Una and the extended Fitzgerald family on the passing of Peadar. He and his family, including his mother,were a central part of my and my siblings childhood in Darrara. He was a great friend to our family and he was a central part of the closely knit family that was Darrara staff and students. He was also a member of a Darrara team that won two West Cork Championships and a Carbery team beaten by Lees in a County Semifinal. He was a force for good and May he rest in peace.

My sincerest sympathy to all the family. Peadar was a caring gentleman of the highest caliber, always thought highly of by my late Dad in Darrara College. I always appreciated his kindness in my youth, offering me summer jobs in the college and the part-time hours teaching Irish to the students when I qualified as a teacher. Peadar was our neighbour for over 30 years.and in the early years he was very hands on around the estate.He loved to chat and was very well informed of all aspects of current affairs etc.A true Gentleman,helpful but not intrusive,He will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.R.I.P. Peadar.
