Although I did not know him, my parents, Kathleen and Paddy often spoke fondly of his parents, Helen and Peadar, with whom they socialised in their working days in Limerick and they continued the friendship when we were growing up in Clareview. I met Padear in Kinsale, we discovered we both were accountants and had both worked in Africa, We bonded Immediately. My memories of Padear are of ambition and positivity, always planning new endeavors which were beyond my conservative comfort zones. Apart from that he was always available to help out, good company and will be sorely missed by many, many people.
