Peadar Ó Baoighill

I met Peadar through work but was quickly charmed by his quiet wisdom and genuine banter. I'm sure anyone who knew Peadar through work would also have thought of him as a personal friend. We had plenty of fun together, debates and laughs... including a few good times up in Edinburgh. He was one of the good ones, I'm sure he's already got a few folk smiling wherever he's landed now. Love and thoughts to all who miss him.

I am heartbroken to hear this news. Peadar was a great friend over the years; generous, great company and always ready with a ticket or an adventure. I met him early as he arrived in London and in that time I’ve, worked with him, drank with him, cheered with him, supported him and been supported by him, and every now and then, bickered with him. I will miss it all.

I send love and my sympathies to Peadar’s family and other friends.

I may not have been a close friend, but over the last 15 years, every time I met Paedar he brought joy into my life. Thank you for that, and for all the laughs we shared. Rest in peace, and sending strength to those left behind.

I am truly heartbroken at the passing of my great friend Peadar.

He was my closest friend here in London and a constant presence in my daily life. We spoke every day, usually deep in sports debates, arguing over results as if we were on the management team ourselves. I would give anything for one more of those conversations.

Peadar had the biggest heart. His love language was gifts, never flashy, just thoughtful gestures that said, “I was thinking of you.” Wimbledon tickets were his speciality. Somehow, he always managed to get them, and he always made sure I was one of the people he brought along. That was Peadar, generous, loyal, and quietly sound to his core.

He had that rare Irish warmth that makes you feel at home anywhere in the world. There is a huge void in my life now and I will miss him more than words can say.

My deepest condolences to his wonderful family, whom I’m honoured to now through him, who he adored and spoke about with such pride. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

I grew up with Peadar through St Louis, St Mary’s, and St Macartan’s. He was always someone you could rely on to be there as a friend and to get involved with any activity or harebrained scheme going on. I remember him writing and producing our sixth class play, Police Academy 5 (I think). We all got a part.
He always spoke fondly of his parents, brothers and sisters, and his Gaeltacht background. My heart breaks for his loved ones on their immeasurable loss and I thank all who cared for him in his final days. Rest in peace, Peadar.

Deepest sympathy to the ÓBaoighill family and friends of Peadar on his death. I knew him well when he played junior and intermediate football for Good Counsel GAA club before going to London. He was a sound man and a good footballer.

Shocked & saddened to hear this awful news. My sincere condolences to the Ó Baoighill family. Peadar & I played football together many years ago with Good Counsel in Dublin. Regretfully, our paths didn't cross in person for many years but I'd get a text from Peadar every so often, usually GAA related. Short & infrequent exchanges, but a welcome interaction. I will miss those. Rest in peace Peadar.
