We were sad to hear about Peadar’s passing on November 8th.I got a shock as I was talking to him only a few weeks ago at Joe and Helen’s house in Knocklyon.Our deepest sympathy to Mary and her family ,to Pat and Sean and Freda and the wider family circle .

My sincere condolences to Damien, Mary, Michelle, Elaine and Karen on the passing of Peadar. He was such a lovely, kind and friendly person and I'm thinking of you all at this very sad time for your family. May Peadar be at peace.

It’s always surreal when a friend or close member of your family passes away, and so it is with my dear uncle Peadar who sadly left us on Saturday morning. This news has left me saddened and in a bit of a stupor since I heard it late on Saturday night.

Peadar was a part of our lives growing up in Lanesborough since as far back as I can remember. He was always great company and he had, as many people have already pointed out, quite a unique and uplifting laugh on him! He was a very easy person to have a ‘no holds barred’ conversation with about anything and everything that he was minded to talk about when you’d meet him. Having spent over 30 years working in the Gardai, I always valued and respected Peadar’s views as they were informed by first hand experience. Whether he was making a withering comment about someone like William Glasser (‘Glasser!’) or just making one of his run of the mill ‘social commentaries’, Peadar was always engaging, respectful and never boring!

I will dearly miss these conversations.

Clearly, his loss will be felt far more acutely by his adoring family.
To Mary, Michelle, Elaine, Karen and Damien, his beloved grandchildren and his many friends, please accept my deepest sympathies at this very sad time. Xo

My uncle Peadar will be severely missed. I have so many loving memories of Peader which start from my childhood watching him drive around Crosses on the tractor, carting bales of hay from the meadow up to the hayshed. Wherever Peader was you were sure to hear his infectious and heartwarming laugh. He had a way of relating with everyone, young and old, and from all walks of life, and made you feel like he valued your presence, without doubt. He made time for you, and he was present. His patience and care for children was such a joy to witness. In later years, whenever I would fly home with my own children, Peader was first to offer his time to collect us. He would accompany Mammy(Freda) to arrivals for a warm Fáilte Abhaile and then we went home to Mary for a warm welcome home breakfast and catch up. I am so grateful to have had Peader as my uncle and get comfort in the fact that he is a part of who I am. Going home now won’t be the same without him and Uncle Josie. To Mary, Michelle, Elaine, Karen, Damien, Mammy, Matty, Pat, Sean, and all the family, my sincere and heartfelt sympathy goes out to you. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers for comfort and strength.
