Peggy McDonnell

A message from Peggy’s family.
We so much appreciate receiving all of the condolences and kind words. Thank you all very much. To all the people who called to Peggy’s house in Sligo and Pullathomas, those who texted, phoned, sent cards, flowers and wreaths, brought delicious food and refreshments to both houses, lined the road, attended the church and graveyard thank you most sincerely.
We would like to thank all of Peggy’s dear and wonderful and kind friends and carers in Sligo who showed exceptional support to her over the years.
What can we really say about Fr John Carroll you were an exceptional good friend to Peggy, you prayed with Peggy at her bedside and supported us at such a sad and difficult time. You concelebrated a beautiful farewell funeral mass and months mind with Fr Michael Nallen, Fr Sean Noone, Fr Joe Hogan and Fr Kevin Hegarty thank you most sincerely.
We know it was nothing like the send off Peggy would have in “normal times” it was as near as it possibly could be.
As it would be impossible to thank everybody individually who helped in any way, so we hope this acknowledgement will reflect our expression of deepest gratitude.
Rest peacefully in Heaven dear Peggy.

So sorry to hear the sad news, we have fond memories of Peggy taking part in the many Special Olympics events. A great personality and full of fun. May her gentle soul rest in peace

I was so sorry to hear that Peggy had died. I got to know Peggy through Inclusion Ireland, we ran advocacy training courses and Peggy was part of the team, she was a pleasure to work with, we learned a lot from her and she was great fun to be with, we had many laughs and she so enjoyed having her fag! She will be greatly missed.
