I was saddened to learn belatedly of Tony’s passing . He was a most considerate and respectful man who built a very successful family led motor business in Drogheda and the wider area The long established Smiths Ford dealership was synonymous with Tony’s good name
As a founder of FLogas I first met him in 1979 at the time of our own start up,when his business was one of our very first customers in Drogheda to contract with us as an auto gas station. He was so pragmatic in his dealings with us .
“If I deal with you as a new company starting off then hopefully if you’re successful FLogas will buy some cars from Smiths “ and we certainly did so .

I had the pleasure of reminiscing with him in 2021, a year after the passing of my dad Donal Mc Quillan (formerly VMc Quillan & son Ford dealership in Carrickmacross). They both trained together in the Ford factory in Cork & had some good times there.
