He was one of nature's sweet gentlemen. Direct and honourable in all our dealings with him in my decades at Henry Ford & Son Limited.
He often regaled us, in his twinkle-eyed way, with tales of his training at Ford's on the Marina and the characters he met there, especially when participating in soccer matches.
We had the pleasure of a great trip with him to Rio de Janeiro in the 90s, made brighter by the warmth and good humour of his company.
They threw away the mould when they made this gentleman.
